Dr. Joshua Davis, DDS
Dr. Davis hails from Chappaqua, NY, and focuses his practice in sleep, restorative, and family dentistry. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Biology in 2007 and went on to graduate from the NYU College of Dentistry in 2011. He continued his education with a General Practice Residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center, which was completed in 2012.
After years of honing his skills working in private practice, Dr. Davis opened Metro Dental in Tuckahoe in 2017. Known for his approachable personality, gentle touch, and attention to detail, Dr. Davis ensures that all of his patients have a relaxed and comfortable experience receiving quality care. He is experienced in all aspects of dentistry, including implants, crowns, surgery, tooth-colored fillings, and pain-free root canals. He also works on children of all ages, instilling habits to ensure a lifetime of lasting oral health.
Dr. Davis is also passionate about dental sleep medicine, which focuses on the use of oral appliance therapy to treat sleep-disordered breathing, such as snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. Having seen the need for this treatment in many of his patients, Dr. Davis has devoted a lot of his time and education to help his patients achieve healthy sleep. Patients who benefit from oral appliance therapy report increased mood, energy, and overall quality of life. Dr. Davis is currently studying on the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine’s (AADSM) Master’s Track, and in January 2020 he will be the only diplomate of the AADSM in Westchester County.
Dr. Davis is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery in the division of Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center where he specializes in treating patients with complex medical conditions relating to infectious diseases. Dr. Davis is proudly featured in the 2019 Top Dentists in Westchester magazine, demonstrating his commitment to his work and his patients. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, New York Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Davis loves live entertainment, especially theater and concerts. He enjoys hiking, cycling, and is an active yogi. He lives in New York City with his 16-year-old cat, Sadie.
Dr. Paula Ancelson, DMD
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Ancelson believes that her role as a pediatric dentist is to teach parents and children how to take care of their oral health. By presenting dentistry as approachable and fun, Dr. Ancelson enables her patients to build confidence in the dental setting, helping them become great dental patients for life.
Dr. Ancelson is currently the director of Pediatric Dentistry at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. In her leadership position she teaches her specialty to residents in addition to providing comprehensive care to children and special-needs patients. In 2018, she won the Attending of the Year award in the department of dentistry. Dr. Ancelson has also worked in private practice since 2016, providing preventive, restorative, and early orthodontic care for her patients. Dr. Ancelson is an active member of the American Dental Association, North Eastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
After receiving a Bachelors of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from The Cooper Union in 2007, Dr. Ancelson went on to earn her graduate degree in dentistry at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine 2011. It was during her training in general dentistry at Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2011 and Montefiore Medical Center in 2012 that Dr. Ancelson found her true calling to work with children. She completed her specialty residency in pediatric dentistry at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in 2015 and became Board Certified in 2016.
Dr. Ancelson grew up on the north shore of Long Island but now calls White Plains home. In her free time, Dr. Ancelson enjoys crossword puzzles, baking, hiking, yoga, gardening and spending time with her husband and two children.
Tyshel (Shelley) Ellis
Tyshel graduated from Westchester School for Dental Assistants at the top of her class, and furthered her education at Hostos Community College. She earned a certificate in Infection Control from the New State Department of Health, and has advanced training as a Financial and Treatment Coordination. She is also certified in CPR and AED.
