Dr. Paula Ancelson, DMD
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Ancelson believes that her role as a pediatric dentist is to teach parents and children how to take care of their oral health. By presenting dentistry as approachable and fun, Dr. Ancelson enables her patients to build confidence in the dental setting, helping them become great dental patients for life.
Dr. Ancelson is currently the director of Pediatric Dentistry at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. In her leadership position she teaches her specialty to residents in addition to providing comprehensive care to children and special-needs patients. In 2018, she won the Attending of the Year award in the department of dentistry. Dr. Ancelson has also worked in private practice since 2016, providing preventive, restorative, and early orthodontic care for her patients. Dr. Ancelson is an active member of the American Dental Association, North Eastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
After receiving a Bachelors of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from The Cooper Union in 2007, Dr. Ancelson went on to earn her graduate degree in dentistry at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine 2011. It was during her training in general dentistry at Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2011 and Montefiore Medical Center in 2012 that Dr. Ancelson found her true calling to work with children. She completed her specialty residency in pediatric dentistry at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in 2015 and became Board Certified in 2016.
Dr. Ancelson grew up on the north shore of Long Island but now calls White Plains home. In her free time, Dr. Ancelson enjoys crossword puzzles, baking, hiking, yoga, gardening and spending time with her husband and two children.
