Frequently Asked Questions

How can we help you?

We are happy to answer questions about our services and procedures.

These are a selection of some common questions that patients have. If your question isn't answered here, please contact our office. It's important to us that our patients understand their dental care.

Your safety continues to be our top priority. Due to the unprecedented nature of this pandemic, we have had to implement changes to ensure that we can continue to provide you with quality dentistry in a comfortable and safe treatment environment.  Please take a moment to review our office’s coronavirus policies below.

Social Distancing

For the time being, we are only allowing one patient in the office at a time. Please come to your appointment without any accompanying visitors to ensure minimal contact. Patients under the age of 18 will be allowed to have one accompanying parent or guardian. Because of social distance precautions, we do not have as much flexibility to accommodate late arrivals as in the past. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes early to your scheduled appointment.

Curbside Check In

When you arrive for your appointment, please call the office at (914) 533-4200 to let us know you have arrived. Once it is safe for you to enter, one of our team members will come outside to notify you that we are ready for you.

Mask Policy

All visitors over age 2 must wear a mask over their mouth and nose in all common areas of the office. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

COVID Screening

All patients will be required to answer a screening questionnaire and have a temperature check at the beginning of each visit. Patients with a fever or positive questionnaire will be asked to reschedule.

Increased Infection Control Measures

You will notice that the entire team is wearing more PPE. Because of this, we will need to decrease the temperature of the office. Please consider bringing a sweater to your appointment. Hand sanitizer will be provided to you at check in and you are encouraged to wash your hands frequently. You will be required to rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide at the beginning of your appointment. We are cleaning all areas of the office with medical-grade sanitizer multiple times per day.

Aerosol Management

Aerosols generated by dental equipment must be managed in order to prevent the potential spread of coronavirus in respiratory droplets. You will notice increased use of suction and dental dam placement during procedures.

For most patients, we recommend twice-yearly visits for cleanings and examinations. If you are currently being treated for a particular concern, we may recommend that you visit us more often.

Examinations are an important opportunity for us to check in with you, see how you are doing, and make sure that your teeth are healthy. We want to catch problems when they are small and can be treated easily. This allows for more comfortable and less costly dentistry for you. Unfortunately, by the time you are in pain, simple measures are no longer effective. Regular examinations allow us to nip this situation in the bud and keep your teeth healthy and beautiful.

Pediatric Dentistry

We know that convenience is important for today’s busy families. That is why we offer dentistry for the whole family including your children. We begin seeing kids at a young age to make sure they have a healthy dental foundation.

Sleep Apnea & Snoring

Snoring can sometimes be a symptom of a serious condition called sleep apnea. If you snore and also notice that you have trouble with daytime fatigue or drowsiness, mood swings, and headaches, call your physician to be evaluated for sleep apnea.

We can provide you with a comfortable mouth piece that will open up your airway while you sleep. More oxygen is allowed to enter the bloodstream, and both you and your significant other will rest easier.
